On the Day I Died: stories from the grave

On the Day I Died: stories from the grave by Candace Fleming

7 word review: Nine teens tell of their early deaths.

Historical fiction, Ghost story. Stand-alone novel. Share with ages 10-14.

As Mike drives home late one night, he stops to help a teen girl…who happens to be a ghost. He ends up at her cemetery, where he finds other teen ghosts keen on telling the stories that resulted in their tragic deaths. While Chicago anchors the location of each story, the dates range from the mid-1800’s to the early 2000’s, allowing for historical facts to seep into each teen’s story.   The stories aren’t connected, making it easy to skip ahead if one isn’t your cup of tea. More creepy than scary, this is a perfect book for tweens looking for a book to send chills up their spine.

And…check out the cover from Australia!  How creepy is this?!
