Read-Aloud Tuesday: Nov 26

Each Tuesday, I read stories in my boy H’s Montessori classroom.  In classic librarian form, I research and choose books I think they’ll like (and that I like, too!).  Here are this week’s choices:

snatchabook

The Snatchabook by Helen Docherty

Oh no – books are disappearing during bedtime storytime!  Where are they going…and why?  My boy H rates this as one of his favorites of 2013.

wowsaidtheowl

WOW! said the Owl by Tim Hopgood

Owl is used to the black of night.  What happens when he stays awake to see daytime?  A lovely color story, and a gentle introduction to nocturnal animals.

gobblegobblecrash

Gobble Gobble CRASH! by Ruth Stiegemeyer

A turkey book, but not a Thanksgiving book.  Just what I was looking for!  The repetitive actions of the animals was perfect for a choral reading.

thank_you_thanksgiving

Thank You, Thanksgiving by David Milgrim

Short and sweet, a little girl heads outside Thanksgiving Day.  Why?  What is so important?  An ideal choice for the preschool crowd before the Thanksgiving holiday.
